  • SAFETY NET PROGRAM: ACCESS TO DIAGNOSTICS AND CARE

The Avon Safety Net Program supports institutions and organizations that have traditionally cared for uninsured, at-risk, low-income, and minority patients to enable medically underserved women to access post-screening diagnostics and care. Please see the 2010 Breast Cancer Funding Guidelines above for application deadlines.

The emphasis of this initiative is to provide hospitals and health care centers with patient navigation programs, partial equipment support, other personnel and infrastructure support that will enhance their breast cancer care services to the medically underserved. Grant amounts can be up to $150,000 total costs for 1 year.

In 2010 the Avon Foundation for Women has moved to a paperless application and grants management system. As in prior years, there is a two-stage process requiring all applicants to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). Following LOI review, a small subset of applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. The 2010 Safety Net Letter of Intent Form can be accessed by following the link at the bottom of this section. Clicking the link will bring you to the Safety Net log-in page. Here you will either need to create a new account (if a new applicant) or use your existing log-in if you have created an account previously. If you are creating a new account, it is imperative that you use your functional work e-mail address as your log-in e-mail.

  • Avon Foundation Research Grants Program

The Avon Foundation Research Programs focus on efforts towards understanding the causes of and prevention of breast cancer. Please see the 2010 Breast Cancer Funding Guidelines above for information on current research priorities. Research grants may request up to $300,000 total costs for up to two years (thus, approximately $150,000 total costs per year for 2 years).
