The fourth annual Avon Foundation Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Awards Celebration on November 8, 2004 honors leaders in the fight against breast cancer. Since its launch in 2001, the annual event has raised more than $6 million for access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer, and this year’s event will raise millions more.

Some 1000 people will attend the Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Awards Celebration at the already renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center’s new home at Frederick P. Rose Hall on Broadway at 60th Street in New York City. The event is hosted by Andrea Jung, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Avon Products, Inc., and Kathleen Walas, President, Avon Foundation. The evening includes performances by two multi-platinum recording artists: award-winning singer and actor Harry Connick, Jr. and his Big Band, and Vanessa Carlton.

Four leaders in the breast cancer cause will be honored

  • Medical Advancement – Jonathan Simons, Director, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and Professor, Hematology and Oncology, Emory University School of Medicine (Atlanta)

  • Media Leadership – Ann Curry, news anchor for NBC News’ Today and contributing reporter for Dateline NBC

  • Community Advocacy – Paul Boulanger, President and Founder of Boston-based Men With Heart

  • Pink Ribbon Crusader – Dottie Randall, Avon Leadership Representative and Honor Society Member from Wilmington, DE
