In 2008, Avon met or exceeded nearly every one of its 2004 environmental goals. Moving forward, Avon established new short-term goals for 2012 and long-term targets for 2020.
In 2013, Avon met or exceeded all 2012 environmental goals except for waste reduction and is on track to meet its 2020 goals. Avon is in the process of establishing 2015 targets to help drive continuous improvement efforts.
Avon also voluntarily files each year with the Carbon Disclosure Project, and these filings have been available for public review for several years.

Advocating for Climate Change
Avon Products, Inc. has been collaborating with CERES on sustainability initiatives since 2011. As a member of the Business for Innovative Climate & Energy Policy (BICEP), an advocacy coalition of businesses committed to working with policy makers to pass meaningful energy and climate legislation, Avon has committed to lessening its environmental impact by employing sustainable building practices through the company’s Green Building Promise; adopting guidelines for purchasing sustainably sourced palm oil through the Avon Palm Oil Promise; and creating a comprehensive policy for promoting responsible forest use and protecting forests through the Avon Paper Promise. Avon abides by BICEP’s key principles, including promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy; increasing investment in a clean energy economy; and supporting climate change adaptation, technology transfer and forest preservation. Avon also is a signatory of the CERES climate declaration, which calls on federal policymakers to address climate change.
